WILD GARLIC

About the Author

Peggy Tolleson was born in Switzerland and met her American husband John at the University of Geneva shortly after World War II. Peggy was studying law and John was finishing his master’s degree in petroleum geology. They were married in Geneva and shortly thereafter moved to Colorado, where John became involved in the oil business. John’s work required them to relocate many times during the course of their married life. Peggy figures she changed houses or apartments 37 times in 30 years! During this time she was exposed to many diverse culinary experiences and kept the diaries which helped to create “Wild Garlic”.

Later on, in her 16th century home known as “Les Micocouliers” in the Cévennes Region of southern France, she perfected some of the recipes in the book, and experimented with new ones, using home-grown ingredients from her vegetable garden and fruit orchards.
